The Transit Advocate is the official newsletter of the Southern California Transit Advocates. Copies of the newsletter are sent to all members in good standing, as well as to various transit and governmental agencies in Southern California.

Reference copies are available at the MTA Library and the UCLA University Research Library.

Each issue includes at least the following:

• Transit Updates: The latest information on new, changed, and cancelled transit service
• Bulletin Board: Happenings within SO.CA.TA and the members. Also, information on special meetings or events of general interest to the transit advocacy community
• Public Affairs Reports (formerly PLAC Report): Astute political analysis of current events and political trends in transportation.
• Calendar of Meetings and Events: The canonical list of transit related public hearings, meetings and events in the Greater Los Angeles area
