Southern California Transit Advocates is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, development and improvement of public transportation in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Southern California Transit Advocates holds general membership meetings (the public is welcome to attend) on the second Saturday of each month (unless otherwise noted) at:

Angelus Plaza is one block north of the 4th Street portal of Pershing Square Station on the Metro Red/Purple Line.

The following bus lines stop at the corner of Hill & 3rd:
Metro 2, 4, 10, 48, 81, 90, 91, 94 and 794; Montebello 40; and Torrance 2.

Metro Lines 30, 40, 42 and 45 stop at Broadway (one block east of Hill) & 3rd. Lines 740 and 745 stop on Broadway mid-block between 3rd & 4th Sts.


From Orange County, the Inland Empire, or from the Burbank/Glendale, Sylmar, Santa Clarita or Antelope Valley areas, take Metrolink to Downtown Los Angeles, and transfer to the Metro Red/Purple Line at Union Station.

From the Eastside, Pasadena or Highland Park areas, take the Metro Gold Line and transfer to the Metro Red/Purple Line at Union Station. (From the Eastside, you can also transfer to Metro Line 30 at Little Tokyo/Arts District Station.)

From the San Gabriel Valley, take any of the El Monte Busway services (Metro Silver Line, Line 485 or 487, or Foothill Transit Silver Streak) and transfer to the Metro Red/Purple Line at Union Station.

From the southern part of Los Angeles County, take the Metro Blue Line, Silver Line, or Line 445 and transfer to the Metro Red/Purple Line at 7th St/Metro Center. The Metro Green Line connects with the Blue Line at Imperial/Wilmington Station and with the Silver Line at Harbor Freeway Station.

From the Westside, take the Metro Expo Line, or Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Line 10 Express and transfer to the Metro Red/Purple Line at 7th St/Metro Center.

From the San Fernando Valley, the Metro Orange Line connects at North Hollywood Station with the Metro Red Line.

The Metro Silver Line, Lines 445, 485 and 487, and Foothill Transit Silver Streak also stop at 1st & Hill (not shown on map), two blocks north of Angelus Plaza.


Free parking is available in the lot under the Angelus Plaza buildings, on Hill midway between 3rd and 4th. (Tell the attendant that you are attending an event at Angelus Plaza; if there is no attendant, go through the open gate to the multi-level structure. The exit gate automatically opens when a car approaches from inside the structure.)

Paid parking is also available in various lots along Hill Street.
