Comments on Culver City service change and fare proposals

Southern California Transit Advocates, having reviewed the proposals for Line 7 and fare increases, supports both.

We agree that operating Line 7 on a schedule that allows for seamless connections with Metro Line 220 is in the best interest of all customers, given that Line 7 consists of routing that was formerly a part of Line 220. We do not believe the widening of headways to 60 minutes will result in significant inconvenience.

Although no one likes the necessity of fare increases, we believe Culver City is taking a reasonable approach in light of the loss of STA funding; however, we are disappointed that the interagency transfer will now be necessary for passengers riding only local Culver CityBus lines. We suggest that the time may be right for Culver City to introduce its own monthly pass, as the EZ Pass may prove too expensive an option for those who do not travel outside the local system but still need relief from the new transfer cost.
