Southern California Transit Advocates, having reviewed the proposal to cancel Line 189, supports same.

In our observation, Line 189 has very low ridership along the non-duplicated route segments, and existing dial-a-ride services in Glendora and Claremont are adequate to mitigate any displaced passengers who find existing Foothill Transit service in the same areas insufficient for their needs.

We are concerned, however, that the public information meeting was held in Claremont, at the far eastern end of the line, which may have discouraged members of the public who reside at the western end of the line from attending and commenting. We urge Foothill Transit to make a better effort in the future at soliciting comments from passengers along the entire length of a line proposed for cancellation.
